Baldour's funeral |
The Ases cried the lost of Baldour, and Odhinn was the most affected of them, because he realized the
lost. They carried the Baldour's cadaver on the sea shore and wanted to celebrate funerals to put the Ase
boat called Hringhorni on sea. Besides all their efforts, their were absolutely incapable of moving it to
the shore. Then, they decided to call the Giant Hyrrokkin
and when she arrived with her wolf and a venomous serpent as a bride. Odhinn asked to
four animals soldiers
to keep an eye on her wolf so he can't escape. Hyrrokkin arrived where the boat was and threw it over so
strongly that the whole world was shaken. Then, Thorr got furious and threatened to break the Giant's head
with his hammer, hopefully, the Ases impeached him from doing that. Baldour's body was carried over the
boat and when his wife Nanna saw that, she was heartbroken and died. She was also put over the boat and
they started to light a fire.. Then,
Thòrr
went ahead to ordain the pyre with his hammer. Miollnir and
Odhinn
put the golden ring called Draupnir which was magical : every nine night, eight same-weight golden rings
would get out of it.
That's how the whitest of the Ases left us.
